Before co-launching Tidal Law, Jaskaran practiced at a full-service shop in Mississauga, Ontario, primarily spending his time as a barrister, leading criminal law and civil litigation matters, as well as advising businesses on their corporate and commercial issues and their policy and government relations strategies.
Jaskaran has a deep understanding of the real estate landscape, regularly working alongside builders and developers to navigate complex transactions and regulatory processes. His experience includes advising on land acquisitions and infill properties, structuring joint ventures between development partners, negotiating financing arrangements with private and institutional lenders, and supporting clients through municipal approvals, zoning challenges, and land use planning matters.
Jaskaran also previously served as the Senior Advisor to Brampton’s Office of the Mayor, as the Executive Director of the World Sikh Organization of Canada, and as a Senior Consultant at an international public affairs agency.
A regular panelist and commentator on various radio and television programs—including CTV, CBC, CNN, BBC, and ethnic media platforms—Jaskaran is a sought-after expert on current affairs and politics, with op-eds also appearing in major print outlets such as the Washington Post and the Toronto Star.
Jaskaran obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Toronto in 2008 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2011. He now calls Calgary home, alongside his wife and two lovely children, but still cheers for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
